I really like the thought, however the implementation confuses me..

Do points carry over from year to year, etc..

Lets say only 2 lower rated players come due in 2011, but in 2012 a ton do..

Is that bad luck for you, or does it carry over?

Is it sort of like a salary cap? if you resign a player 83 OVR and 24 years old for 5 years, does each year cost 2.36, or is that 2.36 just the "signing fee" for that year?

i am still thinking about points carrying over from year to year.. i'm thinking they will but want to make the amount of points you could carry over a limit.. maybe like no more then 20 points or something!!

and just the 2.36 X how many Years you want the contract extended as well.. forgot to implement that in the rules, ill add it. But yeah so a young player that will progress a lot you may want to lock up long term because it could be cheaper but an older player that will decrease in overall you may want to sign to a short term deal

do you get what i'm saying?

For what it is worth, my vote goes towards a "salary cap" type of number..

That player would cost 2.36 in each year of his contract..

The sum of your entire team cannot exceed the cap..

To me that makes the most sense, just throwing out my suggestion..

I would assume the "cap figure" would go to the other team..

If that puts them over the cap they have to cut..

But whatever you decide is cool!
